Celebrating Student Achievement

Celebrating student achievement

With the support of the FGHS school Careers and Transition team and their teachers,  students are continually achieving both academically and personally. A number of students have recently completed traineeships or gained full time employment. Congratulations to the following students:

Zachary Freund (Year 10)

After completing a number of days doing work experience in the Construction Industry and after discussions with Mr Brownsmith, his parents and members of the FGHS Careers and transitions team regarding his educational pathway, Zach has decided to take up an offer of afull time apprenticeship from his host work experience employer.

Along with full time employment, Zach will over the next few years complete a Certificate Level III aligned to his chosen construction pathway of learning. Completing a Level III qualification will enable Zach to have numerous career options and choices within his fields of expertise.

Ryan Warden (Year 10)

Ryan has recently left FGHS to take up an apprenticeship with the Bakers Delight Franchise in Maitland. Ryan over the past few months has been working hard to achieve his goal of gaining employment in his area of interest. Whilst working full time Ryan will also be continuing his education by completing his Certificate Level III qualifications.

Sarah Ingram (Year 12)

Is a senior student and along with her school studies has been for the past two years working for a local branch of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Corporation. During this time, she not only had her full program of school studies to complete but also worked each week with her employer with a focus on completing a Certificate Level III qualification in Retail, which Sarah has now successfully finished.  This is a great achievement.

As the school Term progresses Sarah will now be concentrating her attention to completing her high school senior studies. Well done Sarah. All of your teachers and school friends are very proud of you.

Katrina Coppi – Keelan (Year 11)

Another of the FGHS senior cohort who has been achieving some relevant and important work and educational outcomes. Katrina while attending FGHS has been completing a full program of studies and at the same time, a School Based Traineeship in the Early Childhood sector at Paper Planes Early Learning Centre Thornton, working towards completing her Certificate Level III in Early Childhood and Educational and Care.

As with all School Based Trainees at FGHS to work, study and complete your secondary education takes, discipline, commitment and passion. All students who are following this pattern of study at FGHS consistently display these valuable personal assets.

Katrina has just been offered full time work with her host employer and has decided to leave school. We wish her well.

Jemma Rudd – Furey (Year 12)

Is a senior student at FGHS and after applying for a position of work and study in the Aged Care sector has been successful in gaining full time future employment and training in her chosen field.

Jemma after completing her Higher School Certificate will commence work. Jemma is very excited about following a career and study in this very important sector of our community.

Many more students are in the process of gaining guidance in a number of areas including: subject selections, career pathways, TVET courses, transition study options etc, to just general information on what is best for their future study patterns.
